my story

I have always been very passionate about food, there are lots of wonderful cooks and foodies in my family. My love of baking started when I was a child, food tech was one of my favourite subjects at school. When I finished school, I decided to study a foundation in fine art at college building on my artistic skills which has been invaluable to my work. It wasn’t until I returned from travelling that I found the perfect career path to take, and it specialised in all things sweet. My next adventure begun.

I started my career as a Pâtissier in 2004 at Westminster Kingsway College, where I studied a two-year pâtisserie scholarship. After spending some time working in Hotels and Restaurants, I took the opportunity to go to London and join one of the UK’s leading chocolatiers, William & Suzue Curley. I spent four and a half years working with a fantastic team of chefs at the production kitchen in Twickenham and the Richmond and Ebury Street stores. I was able to refine my skills as a Pâtissier and Chocolatier whilst learning the day-to-day running of the shops. I also gained experience hosting the chocolate and pâtisserie workshops.

Since leaving London I have spent the last 9 years working on many amazing cooking projects. Baking has taken me all over the UK, to Greece, China and most recently Saudi Arabia. Other exciting projects and collaborations have included recipe developing with Bailey's, teaching baking and chocolate classes, working on styled shoots and featuring in Country Living magazine. I am very proud to be a brand ambassador for Guittard Chocolate in the UK. Amy Guittard and her team have always been very supportive of my work.

Today, I work from my Family home in Henfield, West Sussex, where I create bespoke celebration cakes, wedding cakes and pâtisseries. Working in a rural location helps fuel my creativity, I’m often inspired by nature. I love to make cakes and desserts that incorporate home-grown, local and British produce.
